Facebook font alternatives What does Facebook font use for it’s logo? This question has surrounded social sites, web design forums, and graphic design boards. The question that seems to come up over and over again. Admittedly, it’s been a question I too have had on my mind recently. I often wonder about many major site logos and specifically the font they choose to become part of their brand, what that site will be recognized instantly for.

A font used in design is very personal. As a designer it is important and can often be a huge roadblock when it comes to the font that will be used in a logo or in any design piece for that matter. The font used should be relative to what the design is trying to express or what it stands for, it’s meaning, it’s purpose. It all needs to translate is design elements as well as the font used. For example, the Facebook font is clean, professional, simple and it’s my opinion that it translates well to what Facebook does as a service.

There is no font that is exactly what Facebook uses. In order to get the Facebook font look you’ll just have to do some good old fashion research. There is a wide variety of fonts that look very similar to the font used on Facebook but the truth is that none of them are exactly what you want. It’s my opinion that Facebook’s graphic designer simply stretched, moved, distorted, or recreated the font to suit the company better.

Just my own opinion, you can start with Arial. Then convert it so that you can simply stretch, distort, and recreate it. Use Facebook logo to be your guide. Other alternatives you can try are DIN Bold, DIN Bold Alternate, Proxima Nova ACond Bold, Proxima Nova Con Bold.
