Call Phones Feature on Gmail

VOIP and video chat makes it easy to stay in touch with friends and family using your computer’s microphone and speakers. Some application which people use nowadays are Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk, etc.. But until now, this required both people to be at their computers, signed into Gmail at the same time. Given that most of us don’t spend all day in front of our computers, we thought, “wouldn’t it be nice if you could call people directly on their phones?” Starting today, you can call any phone right from Gmail.

Google had said to be working on incorporating Voice with its existing VoIP service and Gmail. As noted by CNET, Google could be ready to turn Gmail into a communications hub by adding the ability to make phone calls from the Google Chat interface. So that is no more a rumor, Google has not only made an official announcement about it but also made it live in US. (more…)

Terrafugia Transition – First Flight Video Press Release

A Video News Release of the first flight of the Terrafugia Transition was released on March 2009. The Transition achieved first flight on March 5th, 2009 in Plattsburgh, NY. The Transition is a roadable aircraft, or more commonly referred to by the public as a “flying car”. FAA has aproved for it’s manufacturing. It has been reported today that a flying car, the Terrafugia Transition Roadable Aircraft has been approved by the FAA. The flying car Terrafugia Transition is a light aircraft non-tradition car and hence was approved by the FAA to start production. The vehicle is able to take to the road, and to flight.

Toothpick Model of San Francisco

Artist Scott Weaver has built a model of San Francisco with a twist: it is made entirely out of toothpicks and glue. He estimates he used 100,000 toothpicks on the model, which includes a track on which ping-pong balls can roll down and ‘visit’ the city.

Noisy stadiums are standard issue in professional sports, but at the World Cup in South Africa, fans in the stadium and on TV are growing increasingly agitated by the noise created by vuvuzelas. At the 2010 World Cup, the vuvuzela is so prevalent — and loud! — that officials considered banning them from stadiums. But as this chart shows, perhaps there’s a good reason for all this controversy.

Wrong URL Images (Media) Uploads Problem After Upgrading WPMU

Hello WPMU Falks,… have you upgrade your WMPU engine with 2.8.1 or above? I Just already done that, I upgrade my 2.6 with 2.9.2. Everything goes well, but i find a problem with the upload media handling. Just working hard to figure out the problem, but.. failed. Google should give me the answer,.. and I find some posts/treats where people have discussing it earlier.

The problem is that the images we upload to the media library not appearing. There si a simple different between 2.8.1 release and before I think. And the different is how your system locate the uploaded media. Here the differet is the location where it locate the files.

Recycled Plastic Bottles and Polyester Yarn Lear Nes Seating System

Lear has developed a technologically advanced seating system it calls The Evolution Seat that integrates seven patented technologies that reduce seat weight up to 25 pounds (11.3 kg) compared to conventional seats without sacrificing strength and safety. The Evolution Seat is expected to launch in the Asian market by 2011.

Lear also has developed new automotive fabrics—Lear ECO Fabrics—made from 100% recycled plastic bottles and polyester yarn that reduce landfill waste and conserve energy and natural resources.

Lear is a fully integrated manufacturer of seats, from the metal structure and mechanisms to the foam and seat trim, notes Ryan Burns, vice president of Product Engineering for Lear’s Global Seating Operations. The combination of Lear technologies in the Evolution Seat significantly reduce weight, trim costs and speed time-to-market, he said.
